Ghostwriting Memoirs

Ghostwriting memoirs is an incredibly challenging but highly rewarding task. Giving voice to a person’s most meaningful memories is a great responsibility. As a trained historian, I know that the past matters, and I also know how the presentation of that past can shape it in the mind of the reader. That’s why I work with my clients to ensure that their memories and their voice are respected, and that I disappear into the background of their book, fading away like a good ghost should.

The first step in the writing process is to work together to define your expectations. What’s important to you about the book we are going to write together? Do you want to do everything possible to maximize the commercial potential of the work? Or is your focus on getting your truth out there in the form that is most meaningful to you, regardless of marketability. The answer to this question often falls somewhere in between these poles, but we both need to know exactly where so we can tell your story in a way that achieves your objectives.

I’ll then work with you to sketch out a structure for the book that meets your requirements. Once you’re happy with the type of book we’re going to end up with, we’ll dive in and start creating the content together!
